2005 Ford Excape Transmission issue

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Had to replace a driver side axle. Put in new axle and now once the transmission heats up it stops pulling. Turn it off for a minute, start it back up, and it goes into gear. Will pull for just a short distance and stops pulling again. I can repeat this over and over again. I wouldn't think it's a heat issue because it can't cool down in just a minute of not running. Is there a pressure sensor or something that could have got messed up when the axle tore up? Goes into all gears smooth and pulls perfect till it heats up. It just stops pulling, no jerky or jumping motions. Thanks for any advise or help.

Ok that is the trans slipping. Usually that is from being low on fluid. DID it get topped of after the repairs?
