09 town and country

Asked by Kenneth Sep 23, 2017 at 09:04 AM about the 2009 Chrysler Town & Country Touring FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving my 09 town and country down the
highway last night, and the dash board flickered on
and off a couple of times lick a Christmas tree.
Then I lost everything but 1st gear. Couldn't shift. I
hit 30 at 3grand top speed. I cruised home at about
20mph. Any suggestions on what do or how to fix
this problem. Thank you and I'm open to anything
without having to spend 40000 on a brand new
vehicle.

Has this vehicle been in a flood? Seems like you have a major electrical issue, get ahold of an electrical diagram from Haynes or Chilton or the free ones at Autozone (follow their repair guide links), and trace it out checking for continuity and opens/shorts. Inspect all fuse/relay blocks and harness connectors, access the PCM and checks its condition, I know on some mopars it lives behind power dist. box. Check battery cables and terminals.

I started the van this morning, and it shifted just fine. Any other suggestions
