Hi hope you can answer my question

I just bought a 2009 Mercury Mountaineer off your wed sight yesterday.. the sales man
went over everything.. And now this morning I tried to put up the running boards and they
won't move you can here the motor trying to move them but no luck on this... can you give
me any ideas on what would be the problem...
