Not taking gas to go

I have a 2005 ford escape with a 2.3 I
can crank it put it in to gear and it will
not take gas to go at all can you help
please

I would use a good fuel system cleaner and also clean the throttle body. Look under the hood for loose or leaking vacuum lines.
