power windows and headlights

I have recently inherited a year old Jetta.  I really like the car but there are a couple of things that are driving me crazy.  One is the power windows.  How do I lower them incrementally?  Are they always full power up and down or is there a way to lower them a little?  I feel like I need a quick trigger finger to stop the windows only part way.
Also, how do I turn the headlights off with the car in gear?  They are waking up the family by shining in the window as I pull out of the drive in the dark am hours.

The pwr windows are suppose to be a 2 stage switch. Gently push the button down the window will only go down till you let go. If you push all the way down it will make the full trip down. The lights on are daytime running lights and will not turn off.

i think if you pull up one click on the E-brake it should shut off the DRL. thats how it is on my car. dont forget to put it back down when your done tho

all this is normal,yes u have to stop the window with the switch,for the lights,it is how the system works,unhook anything you will have a ses light,for the family,tell them to put uo blindes and close them,you got to go to work or just back into your driveway.LOL
