My driver door and rear passenger doors don't lock on my 2005 Escape.

Asked by Chase Sep 07, 2020 at 06:52 PM about the 2005 Ford Escape Limited AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 Ford Escape has been having problems with the driver and rear
passenger doors. When I lock the car using the key fob, only the hatch and
front passenger door lock. The rest remain unlocked. I found that out when
my car was locked and my dad opened a rear door. Most of the time, the
alarm goes off but sometimes it doesn't. Does anyone know why the doors
are not locking? Also, I've only owned for the past 3 weeks.

it would be strange that three doors don't lock all of a sudden. So did it just happen or did they doors fail over time? There is a door actuator in each door to lock and unlock. I would think it would be a wiring issue.

I bought this a month ago, and the doors weren't locking before I bought it, so I don't know if it happened over time or not.
