2009 Saturn Vue - Service Air Bag Light

Asked by Lisa Jun 09, 2014 at 01:32 PM about the 2009 Saturn VUE Red Line V6 AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Does anyone have this issue? I have 103,000 miles. I have a Service Air bag light issue with the passenger side. I took it to a authorized Saturn dealership, Bryner Chervolet in Jenkintown, PA. They told me that the entire mechanism needs to be replaced for any of the air bags to deploy. It will cost $950. I can not afford that. Now, none of the air bags deploy and my 18 year old son drives this car. The air bag should not malfunction this early in the car's life.

Put a piece of black tape over warning light and hope for the best. Make sure your son wears his seatbelt.

My dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree and the after a few runs will go back to normal. My saturn would do the same with airbag light and after a few months stopped. Only God would be able to figure out what's really wrong.
