Hopefully, you have resolved your problem by now but if not, I am happy to share a successful fix I just did today... I'll tell you what happened to me when my radio/cd/clock wouldn't work. I had inadvertantly turned the headlights from AUTO to ON, during the day. Had to jump start the next morning. Radio etc. wouldn't work after that and radio display said "NO VIN". (Odometer, fuel, tires, info all displayed fine). So I came to this sight and found a similar issue with a very helpful answer from tgibel. It worked for my issue and took 5 minutes, not to mention, saved me some bucks. Here is a copy of tgibel's answer to my prayers: "On a 2012 Malibu, I had a friend who had recently had her battery go completely dead. She jump started the car and the radio read: "no vin." The dealership wanted $120 to "reset" the radio. The fuse bank for the radio is on the passenger side of the center console. I removed the lower cover, with the power off, I removed the 10 Amp fuse for the "Radio." BTW, the fuse was good. Fuses are diagramed in the owner's manual. With the fuse removed, I started the car. I then turned the car off, replaced the fuse and turned the key to "ACC" and the radio was "Reset." A 5 minute job would have cost my friend $120. Hope this works for you." Can't hurt to try. Maybe this reset method will work for you, too.
