Loud humming Noise/Front end

My 65 yr old mother doesn't drive a lot but
the last few times she's drove her 2009
Chevy Colbalt she's very upset/nervous bc
she's hearing a loud humming noise in her
front end that wasn't there before. Im
thinking it's maybe the hubs/joints But I am
no mechanic. I just want mom to drive a
Safe vehicle when she is out there and not
worry So please if anyone could offer any
suggestions we'd really appreciate it!

I concur with my esteemed colleagues. The good news is if it's bearings it's not a safety issue, nor is it an emergency to repair. Other than being annoying they can go for months, even years. And while it is true that doing them in pairs is nice to do, they can most certainly be done one at a time if money is tight. I find the left one usually goes first, but your experience may differ. If she plans to keep the car buy the good American made (expensive) ones. The cheap import ones often last less than a year and have to be done again. If the car's going away soon the cheapie will do fine.
