service engine soon light

My service engine light came on shortly after buying the car went to auto
zone to use the scanner the code said 1 to many misfires on spark plug #1
replaced all plugs and wires light went off and that was about a 2 and a half
months ago so now for past 3 wks the light came back on went back to auto
zone and it's reading the same code again #`1 spark, plug to many misfires
in a frequent about of time. and when u alliterate it chugs as if it 's not getting
gas and it's also sucking up lots of gas

Check to see if #1 plug is fouled, If yes that cylinder could be using oil, If there are a lot of miles on it I would put a hotter spark plug in that cylinder otherwise you should perform a compression test or cylinder leak down test to locate the problem before you tear the engine down to repair

I hope you didn't spend a lot of $$ on that old a car ,look under the oil fill cap what do you see ?
