Cheap Paint?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi Everyone.  My 09 GTs in Apex Silver is chipping a little bit and scratches very easily.  I hardly drive
it and just decided to wax it since the snow seems to have stopped and I found so many scratches all
over it.  I suspect that there are cats in the neighborhood walking all over my car.  Anyone else have
problems with the paint?

I also have an 09 GTS with chipping paint. I had what looked and felt like scratches on the back end (especially the spoiler) but if I use my nail carefully I get them off. They always reappear though so I don't know what causes it??? As for the paint chips most of mine are on the hood and by the rear doors. The dealership said they were approved to cover $100 by the rear doors through "goodwill" but it is not covered by warranty because "it is not a defect". It's crap because I've had the car less than 8 months and it has more chipped paint than my 8 year old cavalier. It's never even been used on gravel. He says it's a result of the type of rocks in the sand during the winter and also the water-based paint they have to use now instead of oil-based.
