Leaks eveetwhere!

Asked by GuruSKM65 Jun 08, 2019 at 12:14 PM about the 2009 Subaru Forester 2.5 X

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

In what order should I get the following repairs
fixed? Or should I get rid of the car ? Car still
driving fine (only “noticeable” issue is loud muffler).
Approx 120k mileage.  Keep in mind: I have no
savings to get a new car immediately, no other
way to get to my job, I live paycheck to paycheck,
making about $600 a week.

Leaks in:
Mid pipe and muffler
Oil pan (no visible leakage under the car at all)
Headgaskets
Steering rack
Transmission lines

When you talk about "leaks in midpipe and muffler" are you referring to a exhaust leak or an actual liquid leak? If so, what color is it? The oil pan leaking is most likely a oil pan gasket. I would suggest you stay with the car if it's not the right time to buy a new one and try to fix up the easy leaks. Don't take it to a shop cause if you do, might as well buy a new car.
