Blinker issue after radio installation.

Asked by jdawg514 Apr 22, 2015 at 08:52 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 2LT Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the factory stereo in my 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500 with a Kenwood system. Once finished, everything is fine except that my right front signal bulbs and the right mirror signal are not working. The rear is working normally though. Any thoughts? I have checked front bulbs and they are fine.

Unsure of this exact vehicle, though if you're not using an OEM conversion wiring harness then you may have either blown a fuse, or hooked into another "permanently on" wire which may be drawing power on the low current side of the right flasher relay. Easy way to confirm: 1) check the fuse box, 2) swap over flasher relays (left/right), etc. 3) Remove this "always on" connection from radio side and see if the flashers work again.
