08 suzuki forenza clutch went out what to troubleshoot before taking to shop

More than likely it is your clutch slave cylinder that went out because I'm sure that it is a hydraulic clutch. I had this happen with my Hyundai and it is bit of a pain to fix but the assembly itself is not that expensive. Did you check your clutch reservoir? That is brake fluid in there. If it is empty then start looking for leaks. Follow the metal line from the reservoir to where it ends up and you will find that slave cylinder. There should be no leaking but I am guessing there will be if you pull the rubber boot back. If that is what you do find then order a new one from some place like Rock Auto. Make sure you bleed the new cylinder because any cause it to not work. There will be a bleeder screw on the cylinder assembly that usually has a rubber cap over it. It was about a three hour fix for me. Total cost was $28 and it has worked perfectly for over a year now. I hope that helps
