08 Subaru Impreza Engine Swap Compatibility

Asked by SmithJLee Nov 06, 2017 at 12:15 PM about the 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello everyone
I own a 2008 Impreza 2.5i. Recently blew the motor
and now I’m lookIng for a replacement. I believe the
car has an EJ25 engine in it, and what I’m trying to
figure out is what else in the Subaru engine works is
also compatible with my year and model of
Impreza.

For the least amount of trouble stick with an EJ25 from your year car. A Forester or Outback would also have an EJ25.
