Replaced plugs but van smells to be running rich.

Asked by GuruWLR2V May 04, 2018 at 07:48 PM about the 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the plugs in my 08 grand
caravan sxt. 3.8 liter with the
recommended Bosch plugs. The ones I
took out literally had no element left. But
now we get fuel smell in cabin unless it’s
on recirculate. I do not smell gas when it’s
off and from what I can see there’s no leak
at the injectors. Can’t see 2 of them. The
van runs fine. Seems to use more fuel
when left idle ing. There’s black on the
tailpipe. No engine light. So I’m trying to
figure what it could be?
