oil pump

Recently, after a long trip to my sons, my low oil pressure light came on. I always keep up maintenance, and it was not making any noise, but I immediately stopped. I have replaced the sensor, and still the light is on, but it doesn't come on while warming up, but when it is put into gear. Is the oil pump the next step? If so, who can give me details on how to change it? Thank you!

It is not your oil pump. Under the oil sensor you replaced is a fine screen type basket that gets gummed up. You need to take it out and clean it. This is giving you a false oil pressure reading. Common problem on theses.

Thank you, Rowefast, for your help. I changed the sensor, but didn't know about the screen at the time. I have had some false readings on my tire sensor (always front) could this be some kind of loose wire? It will say it is really high like 99 psi then jump to 0, when in fact they have about 38.

No I guess you have to get a new valve stem installed. The stems are around $5 bucks, plus what they want to do it.
