Truck won't move when I shift it into gear

My truck went move when I shift it into gear but after
several attempts of shifting it finally goes into gear and
drives like the day I bought it. It clicks when I move it while
it's in reverse but not in forward.

Did you ever find out what it was? My 08 Silverado is doing the same thing
