Shifter problem

Asked by Jason Jul 21, 2018 at 06:18 PM about the 2008 Jeep Wrangler X 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an automatic. I was in drive and stopped.
Then I put it in reverse and kept driving forward. It’s
the same with park, neutral, low 1, and low 2 gears.
It’s stuck in drive. My shifter isn’t connected
anymore. What might be wrong?

Shifter linkage cable bushing broke on one of the ends. It’s made of plastic. I ordered a new one for $8.
