Toyota Minivan engine blown up

Asked by GuruVZYMT Sep 20, 2020 at 01:37 PM about the 2008 Toyota Sienna LE 8 Passenger

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I think the engine of my Toyota minivan siezed up
and is completely destroyed.

How much does it take to put in a new engine?

A rebuilt engine installed will likely be at least $5,000. Get quotes and then decide if the van is worth fixing. A used engine (crap shoot) might save you some money.

Thanks! Yeah, planning to get a couple of quotes. We use the mini van only occasionally for beach trips etc. So hate to spend $10-$15K for a used van, if this van can be repaired for $5K-$7k. Let’s see.
