My AC was blowing hot. So I
replaced the cabin filter and
refilled the refrigerant. About 30
minutes later it leaked out behind
the front passenger tire and there
is a very strong chemical smell
inside the car.

That's probably where the original freon leaked out , that's why there's none in the system , you have a leak , the components of the AC system are designed to work together , take it to a good shop . I don't know why they even sell cans of freon in the parts store
That far back has to be a cracked line. Yes this will take a professional to fix it right.
