Question type: General

I believe that hyundai santa fe FWD has open differential in the transaxel,
where both front wheels are 50/50 on dry surface, but if one wheel is on a
slippery surface, the differential sends more power to the wheel easiest to turn
& the front wheel on opposite side(dry surface) may not turn at all. Is that
correct?

Yes. Open differentials send power to the tire with the least traction. If both wheels have enough traction you get power to both wheels.
