Why ldoes the transmission light and an exclamation light go on when I start
the car?

On start up, most dash indicator lights will illuminate for a few seconds to confirm the bulb and circuit are functioning. But if that that transmission light stays on, there is a something wrong and a fault code will be stored in the car's computer. Scan for codes and see what it is so you can fix it.
