remote will not open or lock car

i had the same problem with my 03 tahoe. fixed the problem by reprogramming the remote

Just have to ask, check the battery in the remote?

My dads 2011cvr key fob locks and set the alarm, but it won't open the doors!!. Same issue with the second fob as well. Any ideas??
