How can the cargo door be opened when the battery is dead?

Try using the release mechanism on the cargo door. Fold the rear seat to get to the cargo area, there is a small opening on the cargo door, which has a cover, takes the cover out, using a small flat head. Inside you will see a small lever or you need to use small flat head to move the lever to the left.

This is helpful but I also suggest keeping jumper cables up front where they can be reached.
