Is it possible to reset the engine light manually?

The check engine light means there is a problem - If the problem still exists after resetting it will come back on. Lay persons reset - Disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes reconnct and should be out. If it is a HARD problem it will come on again fairly quickly and should be inspcted by a professional before more damage is done to the vehicle.

make sure that your gas cap is tight .or u can get it check for free @ autozone with an OBD2 readerbut try to buy an oem parts because it's worth it.
