Does anyone know if there is a way to bypass the Continuously Variable transmission (CVT) to get more power out of my car?

Asked by Ken Dec 28, 2012 at 10:18 AM about the 2008 Nissan Maxima SE

Question type: Car Customization

I have 2008 Nissan maxima with CVT. Does anyone know if there is a way to bypass the CVT to get more power out of my car...The CVT is creating limitations when it comes to power no matter what mods I put on my car...the car seems like it wants to really go but then the CVT seems like it holds it back.

The CVT, of all transmissions, is designed more for fuel economy and comfort over sportiness and power.
