Serpentine drive belt replacement

Asked by Jay Jul 05, 2020 at 12:54 PM about the 2008 Ford Edge SEL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently change the serpentine and drive belt. However
when turning the harmonic balancer I wasn't sure whether
to turn it clockwise or counterclockwise so I did both in
order to get the belt back on. Now after starting the car I
have a power steering fluid leak. Can the leak be
associated with the way I turned the harmonic balancer?

Are you referring to the belt tensioner as the Harmonic Balancer? The leak could be from moving one of the hoses and pinching it.
