2008 Chrysler Pacifica

My heater and AC fan goes off and on.
Sometimes staying off for days. Then
randomly comes back on and works fine.
Could this be the motor or just a short
somewhere?

It could be both, you may want to put an amp meter on it, let it run and see if there are any spikes in the amp draw..

It could be both like joemom says, and also there is a blower motor resistor that can do funny things when they go bad in-which would be my stab at this.
