my fan doesn't come on when temp reaches 226 is that normal for 08 chevy cobalt sport?

Nope is should come on at a lower temp I think it should be about 180 degrees.

If fan is not coming on when it should check for power going to fan , check fan fuse and relay , check connection going to fan and also check coolent temperature sensor
