it's not normal for a passenger vehicle but It sounds like it might have been a police vehicle at one time or another. Most police vehicles are factory built but some smalltown police cars and most private security vehicles are just modified passenger cars made into police vehicles either by their own shops or hired out repair shops or conversion companies.. Normal police cars have cloth seats up front for the patrolmen but have tough no-frills leather seats in back for the prisoners. Now if the backseat is real comfy and fancy looking leather then someone probably just didn't like the feel of the leather upfront and swapped them out at one time or another or it still might have been a police unit that was modified that way on purpose. If the vehicle has a spotlight mounted on the driver's side windshield post, it's a dead give-away that it was a police vehicle. Look closely around the truck and see if it looks like any antenna holes were filled it and repaired. Alot of usedcar dealers buy old police vehicles at auction for dirt cheap, take them back to their shop and fill in the antenna holes, touch up the paint and resell the vehicle on their lot as a passenger vehicle. Beware, these vehicles were usually ran very hard and sometimes stayed running 24/7 for years. Runing a carfax report on the vehicle will show all of it's owner history since new and should only cost you $9.95 for a basic report. Here's the website http://www.carfax.com/cfm/general_check.cfm?partner=BNG_0&infinity=mac~Brand%2BSPART%2BUS~Carfax%20Generics~1561388324~11446792578~carfax~e A full report is also available and will pull up all info about your vehicle from day of manufacture to present. You will only need your VIN number from your vehicle, it is on your title or finance papers. It is also on a sticker on the drivers doorjam and on the left front lower corner of the windshield. Good Luck, MrBlueOval/Kenny..
