bought a 2008 solara 19,000 miles. it's been suggested that i replace the timing belt now since its 10 years old. shall i?

It would not hurt if you can afford it. I would have a mechanic inspect the belt for cracks. If it has no cracks you could go longer on it.

I replaced not only the timing belt but also the water pump and serpentine belt, it's nothing wrong with doing this, my car had 106,000 miles on it.
