A 3v (2005-2010) 4.6L will fit in to the same place as the 2v (1996-2004) 4.6L. They are the same block dimensions but take careful note of the head clearances with the hood. It should swap with no problem. I would also advise swapping the transmission with it as the T5 in the New Edge (1999-2004) GT's is not as good as the TR3650 (manuals). If you have an automatic 2008, I would take that transmission over the New Edges AODE.
