Adding a 13 inch headunit to 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS and have a 7 inch ATOTO android
head unit which worked well for 4 years. I however want to upgrade to bigger
Tesla style dash like this one. Anyone know if this 13 inch head unit will fit well
in my Eclipse? I was wondering if anyone had installed anything bigger than a
7 inch headunit in an Ecplipse spyder and it had worked well?

Try Car Toys, Crutchfield or even Best Buy as they are the only ones that will have any idea if something that large will work in your vehicle. But it sounds like your asking for a distracted driving ticket with something that large in that small of a car.

Ok I was looking at an ATOTO 10 inch head unit (https://www.amazon.com/ATOTO- Navigation-S8G2114PM-Tethering-Bluetooth/dp/B08HQS15VG/r). Anyone experience with similar headunits in 2008 eclipse spyder GS? The manufacturer recommended a 3rd party dash kit (http://metraonline.com/part/99-7010). Not sure why that is needed since the radio should fit any double din dash.

Yes it is double din, but they recommend the kit to make way easier to install the head unit and in a lot of cases it includes a wiring adapter so you don’t chop up the harness, makes it almost plug and play.
