Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Hi everybody I have a used 2008 Chevy Tahoe LT 2WD 5.3.
It has 115200 miles and it's one payment away to be paid
and is my family suv. The question is a what point should I
put a new engine in it, I don't want anymore truck
payments.

If it runs good and does not use oil and you take good care of it the engine could easily go past 200,000 miles. I would replace the engine when the compression is low or it burns a lot of oil.

You should be a long way from needing to replace the engine. Keep up the maintenance and be sure any recalls have been serviced (if any).

Use a top quality oil filter, change the oil at least every 5,000 miles, install a magnetic oil drain plug and keep it tuned up and it should last a long. long time.
