Traction Control

Asked by saettone Dec 05, 2013 at 04:58 PM about the 2008 Buick Lucerne CXL FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A few months ago my car would feel like it jerks when taking off from a stopped position. Now with ice on the ground, when I take off, it makes a loud clunk noise in one of the front wheels and car will swerve and tires spin. No traction control. The traction light was on a few months ago for about a week and went off by itself. There are no light on the dash now.

I've tried to post an answer to this but is having problems with me today...yes, the brake slides should be free to move back-and-forth...perhaps one has a torn boot and has allowed contamination from presenting free travel...replace the calipers, pads and SLIDES...please~

Thanks...I'll check the breaks, I just changed the pads on the front a week ago. I may have a bad caliper, inside pad was down to metal while the other has about 1/8" + pad left.
