Can I repair seat w/o spending $900. ?

Asked by JJarrett0527 Jun 08, 2015 at 05:12 PM about the 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The back of the seat is all the way up, and will not go down. I have looked under seat and the motor, and gear seems to be working, how ever the metal (spiraled) shaft is not turning. Is there a way I can manually turn this shaft w/o having to by a new seat chassis?

Have you tried the auto wreckers for a used seat assembly? Shouldn't be too tough to find, and at about 1/3 the price.
