Would it be just the brake lights coming on stepping on the brake, and the tail light bulbs are just burnt out?

When I press the brake pedal they're all on but let my foot off the pedal they're off

May just want to check the bulbs out first with the tail lights on, sometimes its just a bad connection with the bulb, but check to see if any are burnt out.
