Heat/air not blowing

Asked by Bdrake16 Dec 29, 2016 at 09:37 AM about the 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 08 Pontia. grand Prix. The air and
heat only blows out at random times of use.
Recently the car started to over heat with the
gauge getting higher. The car.never actually
smoked, but I could smell the coolant over
heating. I parked the car and have drove it.
What do you think could be wrong? I
personal dont think its the head gasket but
I'm not sure. Please help me Asap!

Look under your car for signs of anything leaking. Check your coolant level to make sure the system is full. If its down, top it up and keep an eye on it over the next few weeks. If its going down but not leaking out anywhere put some Bars Leak in the system. It won't harm your cooling system but will often stop or slow down coolant leaks so you don't have to get into major mechanical work changing gaskets etc.
