Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 08PontiacGrandPrix that keeps shutting down.Display reads "Starting Disabled Due to Electronic Throttle Control" and "Reduced Engine Power  It will start back up after removing and reinserting key several times. Averages 4 shut downs in 2.2 miles. Mechanic said there are no stored codes and doesn't want to start throwing in expensive parts that may or may not work. Anyone else have this problem?

Try cleaning the pedal position sensor, and make sure all the connections are clean and tight.

Could be a faulty TAC Throttle Actuator Control or wiring and connections between TAC and APP accelerator pedal position sensor. Good Luck.
