Beforw spending tons of money on repairs want to get idea of what is wrong

08 Nissan Altima 176,400 miles started whining on
long trips , had transmission fluids flushed in
October now it is a light brown color not too thick .  
Just had alternator changed and two days after
getting it back I couldn't go over 45 without rpms
jumping to 4+ , now the car is parked and has
trouble starting and smells like gas

Between me you and the wall, its time for a new car...sell that and get something with lower miles on it. That car is going to start becoming a money pit...
