Replacing a Pressure Solenoid Valve and it's location.

Asked by Nina Aug 11, 2020 at 03:10 PM about the 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My nissan has been setting up for about 4 years.  I finally took it to a shop
and they serviced it but the check engine light came on as I begin to drive it.
I haven't driven it for the 100 miles recommended for it to reset itself.  I took it
and they said that the code was 745.  I look further into it and it says that the
Pressure Control Solenoid needs to be replaced.  Is it located outside the
transmission or inside the transmission?  Do I have to have the entire
transmission replaced?

With the vehicle sitting for that length of time I'd just drive it for a few weeks and see if the problem goes away on its own. Sometimes when a vehicle sits for a long time it takes a little bit of time and driving for everything to wake up and work properly again. Hope that helps! Jim
