It takes 4.8 but 5 qts is close enough. keep a eye on the oil level nissan 2.5 and 3.5l like to burn oil even the new cars. most will go through 1 qt every thousand miles. dont get me wrong they are great engines they can be oil hungry though.

My 2007 I4 never has burned any between changes 3000 miles, got overfilled at wallmart, sure made it breath heavy out the vent. These altimas and Rogues don't like jerky driving or jack rabbit starts, gets the engine mounts in 65K miles if you do, The maintenance manual says change them at 65K for better rides. Haven't heard the latest on the oil pumps. Got a problem with them now? Should get a light. I changed my engine mounts and tranny mount, had 86K on them. Biggg difference!!

Oil maintenance alarm comes on at about 4000 km, normal? You can set those with right milage knob, just push and hold until you enter menu, then set your warning lights, like you might want 8 or 10 km intervals with full synthetic oil, just change the filter if you want to cut it to check for metal.

Could your oil be stiff in cold weather? What viscosity are you running, and your temps are they near 0 F in the mornings? How long until they quiet down, lifters have very small passages, takes a while for the oil to warm enough to pump them up, they drain fine, slow to pump back up. should run like 0-5 in very cold, 5-10 sumer,
