What system stops working if the anti theft or the transponder key needs reset or replaced on a 2005 Nissan altima

I had to unhook the battery to replace the
starter. And now it doesn't fire

First mistake,i can only guess,but did you leave key in the igintion when you unhooked battery?If so this is not good,hope you have another spare,key or you may have to visit a dealer to solve the problem,never leave key in when replacing battery.
