Wha is the air bag light on in a 2008  impala  I am looking to buy?

It goes by different names depending on manufacturer, but the module that controls the airbag needs to be reset, or the light will never turn off. Could be referred to as airbag control module, restraint module, SRS, etc. I would have that car inspected and a diagnostic run on that module BEFORE even thinking about buying it, or you may find yourself paying $700+ for a new airbag.
