Could security system be causing my truck to not start?

started fine in the a.m. just not later that day. When key is turned there is not
even a click. Mechanic asked if I had a 2nd key which I don't so what are
some ways to get the security codes?

Unplug your fan a lot of the time the security light will come on because the fan has a shirt in it causing it not to start
