Battery is dead in the morning

During last 200 miles of a long drive (600 miles) I noticed the "service the battery
charging system" in my suburban 2007. Since it was a deserted area and it was deep
in the night, I kept on driving while all bulbs including headlights kept blinking for 20
minutes. Thereafter it stabilized to perfectly alright except one battery light in dash
board lit. High beam and AC work just normally and I was home.Next morning battery
was dead. Checked battery from retailer- alright (3 months old) checked alternator-
normal- charging 14 volts. Car runs normally throughout the day with AC audio all. But
next morning same - battery zero. Again jump start and perfect performance whole
day. Mechanic says there is leakage of power from the circuits. He cannot find the
site of leakage. Can any one has any suggestions...

Yes,you can redneckit.Get some heavy guage wire,s with fuse links,run wire to cable + and then a lead to12volt switch mounted in side truck to cut on and off.You may never find the short,but this way,even not good to do,will work if need be. Good luck with it

And maybe, it could be your ignition swicth.

Do you have a voltage regulator? Can you check how much charging voltage comes into the battery when the suburban is running? Is there a draw after the battery is turned off? It sounds like your running off the alternator when running, and the battery is taking a small charge. After the Sub is off, a bare wire is drawing the battery charge or something is not turning off. Electrical is a difficult chase. Start with a read on the codes and see it it tells anything. If anything, charge the battery then disconnect it and in the morning reconnect it and see if it went dead again. Just because the battery is new, does not guarentee it is good.

Thanks T_S_T. Your answer gave an idea. I Cleaned the connections between alternator and battery. Charging went to full 14 volts; previous was slightly less. Did no other job. Doors unlocked by remote in the morning...
