6 speed manual getrag transmission

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

First and second gear fine can't get it to go into
3rd or 4th and the 5th and 6th Gear fine what's
the problem

If the transmission has external linkage then check it out. If the linkage is internal then you will have to remove the trans to fix it.

What's is the 6th gear for? Towing or what? I just bought a 2006 Dodge ram 1500 manual and when I pop it into 6 the i can't go any faster than 70 which is fine but just want to know why?
