I have had my check engine light on for a couple of years now. The code was the bank 1 sensor 2 O2 sensor. I have replaced it twice and all the others. Light will not reset at all. What do I do?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have tried code checkers from autozone, o'reilly's, and my own. I have disconnected the
battery and still nothing. The remote start will work and the truck runs for exactly 8
seconds every time I try it. And I'm not going to take it to a dodge dealership. They
charge $100 just to run a diagnostics. Thats ridiculous for a company to do to a customer
with their brand.

What is the problem? Cel won't reset? Or is truck going dead after 8 seconds of running?

I am trying to clear check engine light and don't know why truck will only run for 8 sec. when I start it remotely. I have no problems driving it anywhere.

If the scanner won't read, either the fuse for the DLC is blown/missing. Why doesn't a Factory Trained and Certified Technician deserve to be paid for diagnosing a vehicle you obviously have neglected for the last 2 years? They should work for free? Most Technicians get paid by repairing vehicles instead of by the hour. There's no telling what other damage has been done by driving this neglected vehicle for so long with a malfunction.

The reason why I won't take it to the dealer tech is because when it first came on it was still under warranty and they were still going to charge and then charge for repairs on top of that unless it was the computer then it was going to be just the $100. I have had mechanics look over it for me for free and same things that I have found and done. I have even contacted crysler to ask them and it's the same thing. Going in circles. I have worked in a service business for more than 10 years and if I sell something from a vendor that is malfunctioning or dificient I would take care of it and then let the vendor know and we would be compensated by vendor. I didn't say they shouldn't be paid but the company they work for should have the employees and the customers in mind and the company's business and profits will be great. Maybe that's why they needed a bail out.
