i ust had the same problem with my 2007 dodge ram 1500 hemi, it started to not stay running then just didnt start at all, turned over but know fire. i had to put a whole new in tank fuel pump in. now it stays running. the other thing i was told was you have a fuel pump relay mounted under your fuse box thats unreplaceable, you have to change out the whole fuse box (TIPM), and with parts and labor it runs about $1500. so check the fuel pump first.

I just had this issue with my 2007 ram 1500 5.7. Drive fine on the way to work, hadn’t had any issues leading up to it, was getting great mileage. Then had a crank-no start condition. Did a quick test with starter fluid(if you do this be very careful to use bare minimum since it’s bad for your truck) where I pulled the air filter and did a quick squirt of starter. Truck fired right up but dies as soon as the starter fluid burned up. So I knew I wasn’t getting fuel. Cycled the key to on and couldn’t hear the pump prime. Found out that 07’s don’t have a pump relay module that you can bypass like other years and that the filter is inside the tank and not serviceable. So I concluded I needed a new fuel pump. Pulled the six bed bolts, 3 fuel filler Torx screws, removed tailgate to relieve weight of bed, removed taillights and pulled wire harness out of the bed, disconnected the ground strap in passenger side, and with the help of my boss and an escalera lift, picked the bed up and set it on blocks. Disconnected the harness from pump, quick disconnect on fuel line, vacuumed all the crud off the top of the old pump, popped the cover and used a chisel and sledge to drive the retaining ring around until I could remove it. Vacuumed again. Removed old pump, out new one in and reassembled everything after making sure the truck fired. Problem solved!

Did same thing lostinidaho did but wasnt sure if I should drop the tank to clean it out...some told me didnt need to do this on '06 unless suspected real dirty tank...I just did a quick rinse with fresh gas and clean rap wipe down and re-rinse then air dry...hope I wont regret it. If i have to do this again...I wont buy a dodge again.
